THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Hello, my name is Emily.  I am your passionate, personable & professional photographer at EB Studio. My love for photography began when I was at school, working in the darkroom. When you are composing a photograph, you start to see beauty in the every day, this is what initially drew me in. I went on to study graphic design at university, but switched to photography after realising I spent my days composing images in my head and lived to have a camera in my hand (I am one of ‘those people’, annoying family and friends with a camera in their face). My other great love is meeting new people and discovering the subtleties that make us unique and learning about the qualities we all share.

My desire to capture people lead me to fashion photography, initially I found it to be a great creative outlet, but it wasn’t until I started working in portrait photography that I found my vocation. I now live to capture love, it is universal and is something that we all share, be it the love shared by families, great friends, or that of newlyweds. Being able to provide people with a tangible record of the love and bonds they share is the thing that gets me up in the morning. My favourite subjects of all are children. It is their lust for life, their creative minds, unselfconscious expression and of course those eyes that inspire me more than anything else.
I return easily in my mind to my own childhood, and this allows me to build a great rapport with children. I have always been family orientated and nostalgic. My favourite photographs from my childhood are not the posed  portraits, but those that capture unique expressions and closeness. I am so incredibly passionate about providing this natural and emotive imagery for my clients, and at the same time making sure everyone looks their best and the image itself is art-worthy. A great portrait is not only a flattering depiction, it also tells a story. I’m looking to create beautiful and timeless images for you to share and love for years to come. To capture you naturally, I must first ensure you feel comfortable, and I am told this is one of my most valuable skills.
In the years I have worked as a photographer, I have freelanced; producing high quality work across a number of fields, and also worked for one of Australia’s top portrait studios. I completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Photography, and have been trained by the best of the best while working in the industry. I’m also an accredited member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers). I am proud to be responsible for providing clients with the most treasured records they have of themselves and their loved ones.

THE STUDIO

EB Studio is a fully equipped boutique photographic studio located in Surrey Hills. The set up allows for large family groups as well as intimate newborn and couple sessions. It has been built into the front of a beautiful family home, and offers the same comfort you would expect from such a place. The lounge area invites you    to relax with a tea or coffee before your session. The studio itself is decked out with all the best equipment, but is safe and durable so the kids can run around and enjoy themselves. We are pet friendly too, so your fur family are more than welcome to come along.
